New Campaign Ad Says Romney Supports Abortion & Birth Control Rights

Listen, I actually think Mitt Romney personally doesn’t give a shit about issues of reproductive health, but whatever he thinks is irrelevant - it’s his policies that are important. 

-Romney wants to overturn Roe v. Wade by appointing anti-choice justices.

-Romney says he will reinstate the Global Gag Rule, a policy responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of women across the world.

-Romney has promised to defund Planned Parenthood, a leading provider of health care for low-income women.

-Romney/Ryan say they would do away with the contraception mandate on “day one.”

-The GOP platform includes support for a constitutional amendment that would give fertilized eggs “personhood” rights - making abortion illegal in all cases, as well as outlawing certain kinds of birth control and in-vitro fertilization. Paul Ryan supported similar legislation. 

-Paul Ryan supported the Let Women Die Act, which would have let hospitals refuse women life-saving abortions. Romney told a mother of four who needed an abortion to save her life: “Why do you get off easy when other women have their babies?”

If you vote for Mitt Romney, you are voting to end women’s reproductive rights. Period.
